The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, customer focused Business Development Manager to join our high performing Central region commercial markets Team based in Tauranga or Hamilton. Relationship building is at the core of this role as they will be supporting our broker network with a focus on growing the region. This role works closely with one of our Commercial Underwriters, so while you might not come from this background yourself, you will have at least 3 years of insurance experience and an appetite to learn.
Responsibilities
- Managing and growing a portfolio of clients across a variety of Commercial Lines products including Property, Liability and Motor.
- Generating new business and maximising premium and renewal retention, whilst maintaining strong underwriting principals.
- Broker training and presentations.
- Building strong client relationships to grow the Ando business.
Qualifications and experience
- An excellent team player, proactively taking measures to build excellent relationships internally and externally.
- Experience across multiple commercial lines of business including Property, Liability and Motor.
- Proven track record in growing a portfolio of business within the NZ insurance market and the ability to balance risk and commerciality in underwriting decisions.
- Great sales discipline, with the ability to set and achieve growth targets.
- The flexibility to adapt and evolve with the business.
