The role
We’re looking for a commercially savvy Finance Business Partner to join our close-knit Finance team based in Auckland, reporting to our FP&A Manager.
This isn’t a “sit in the numbers” kind of role. It’s about getting alongside the business, understanding what drives performance, and translating financial insights into real, practical decisions.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor — helping leaders make sense of the numbers, spot opportunities, and plan for what’s next.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be right in the mix, partnering across the business to:
Turn financial data into clear, meaningful insights that support decision-making
Support budgeting, forecasting and ongoing performance tracking
Build and maintain robust financial models to support planning and strategy
Provide commentary and analysis on trends, risks and opportunities
Support the development of business cases and growth initiatives
Deliver reporting for senior stakeholders including Exec, Board and Group
Help strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
Contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business
What you’ll bring
You’re someone who enjoys connecting the dots and influencing outcomes — not just reporting on them. You'll be able to demonstrate:
At least 7 years’ experience in management or financial accounting in an NZ commercial environment (insurance experience is a bonus!)
CA / CPA qualification is highly desirable, but we are still open to considering those with very strong work experience who may not be qualified
Strong commercial acumen with a natural curiosity for how businesses operate
Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
The ability to communicate complex information in a simple, relatable way
Confidence working with senior stakeholders and building trusted relationships
A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine desire to add value
